I am a big believer in celebrations of any sort, so when Grace said she wanted to host a Solstice Dinner I was all on board. From top to bottom, she planned and executed the entire evening and it was so lovely!

She considered several places around the farm to set up, but she settled on the garden in the end. It was a beautiful evening even though a thunderstorm did roll in after we were finished eating! Since our table was narrow, we simply lined the table with small jars of sweet peas. Hydrangea were perfect for the serving table.

Grace crafted the menu and made all of the food. It was so delicious! She started with a simple charcuterie board with olives, cheese and crackers served with Midsummer Solstice Gin and Tonics. For a salad she did a beautiful beet and citrus stack and for the main course she served hand-cut spinach pasta (that she made from scratch!).

For dessert, she made a strawberry sponge cake with basil cream filling! It was beautiful and delicious.

It was such a lovely evening and I so appreciated the effort made to make a normal Monday evening a special occasion.
